Grief & Loss

Grief is more than sadness; it is the heavy, confusing mix of emotions that comes after losing someone or something important. It can make everyday tasks feel harder, leave you feeling disconnected from others, and cloud your sense of purpose.

While it can feel overwhelming, working through grief can help you process your emotions, honor what you have lost, and gradually find peace and meaning again.

At Finding Solutions Together, we provide a compassionate space where you can share your feelings, process your loss, and develop tools to cope. Our therapists will support you as you carry the weight of grief, find moments of peace, and gradually reconnect with meaning, purpose, and hope.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Your Questions, Answered.

How do I know if I need therapy for grief and loss?

Grief is a natural response to loss, but sometimes the pain can feel too heavy to carry alone. You may notice that your sadness, anger, or confusion is lasting longer than expected or making it hard to function day to day. Therapy can help you process your emotions, find meaning in your experience, and begin to heal at your own pace.

What happens in a session?

A psychotherapy session is a space where you can talk openly about what’s been on your mind, explore patterns in your thoughts and relationships, and better understand your experiences. Your therapist will listen with curiosity and compassion, asking questions to help you gain insight and identify what might be helpful moving forward. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before you arrive. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs, moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, we offer virtual sessions.

Is this covered by insurance?

All of our therapists are Registered Psychotherapists and/or Registered Social Workers. In most cases, therapy with our team is covered by insurance, though coverage can vary depending on your plan. We also offer direct billing through most major Canadian insurers. We recommend checking with your insurance provider before your first session so you know what’s included and can focus on getting the support you need.
