Susan has worked extensively with children and families on problem-solving techniques and conflict management in her first career as an educator and in her current counselling role. Her employment experience also includes volunteering at a group home for sexually abused teenage girls.

She has worked with individuals, couples, and groups to overcome concerns related to past trauma, anger and stress management, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, parenting, and romantic relationship repair and enhancement. Additionally, Susan has prepared and presented various workshops for women, parents, and couples, as well as for people suffering from anxiety, depression, and loss. She has also presented Cognitive Behavioural Theory as a tool to navigate life’s transitions.

Jeff and Susan collaborated on developing a manual and a full-day couples’ retreat outlining seven spheres of intimacy: emotional, experiential, recreational/social, sexual, conflict/crisis, intellectual, and spiritual intimacy.

Having raised three children with her husband, Jeff, Susan is aware of the trials and rewards of parenting. Similarly, nearly 40 years of marriage have provided her with considerable experience and skills in nurturing happy and healthy marital and family relationships.

Susan’s involvement in the life and work of her church is important to her, and she has been actively involved in the leadership of small groups and children’s and women’s ministry.

AREAS OF FOCUS

Individual, Couple & Family Counselling

I work with adults of all ages, couples, and families to help them navigate challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, and relationship repair. I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where people can heal, grow, and strengthen the relationships that matter most to them.

Parent & Child Development

With a background in education and many years of raising my own family, I have a deep understanding of the joys and struggles of parenting. I enjoy helping parents and children develop healthier communication, stronger bonds, and practical problem-solving skills to create a more peaceful home life.

Women's Issues & Life Transitions

I have led workshops and groups for women facing challenges with identity, stress, loss, and major life changes. I often draw from approaches such as Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help clients reframe their stories, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.

Faith & Spirituality
My faith is an important part of who I am, and I bring this into my work for those who want to integrate spirituality into their healing journey. Through my involvement in church leadership, women’s ministries, and small groups, I have seen how faith can provide strength, meaning, and hope during difficult times.
